Wherever the members of the Postwirtmusi come together, they bring joy to the eyes and ears of their audience. When they play traditional alpine music, we can feel their overwhelming passion – a much needed asset given that for every rehearsal, they travel 450 km, cross one national and five county borders. The result, however, is worth every meter of the journey: energetic marches, groovy boarische, wondrous waltzes, and dashing polkas precariously reminiscent of the oberkrainer. From the very first note, we are captivated by the infectious rhythm and barely manage to remain seated, and we inevitably have a grin on our face.
It was a lucky coincidence that the three clarinettists Fidi, Fredl, and Michl met at the “drumherum” folk music festival in 2018 where they came up with the idea of starting their own clarinet ensemble. Soon, they found support in their friends Toni, Hannes & Hannes as well as the charming harpist Resl; all of them notorious members of the scene.
Postwirtmusi’s music is mostly custom made compositions and arrangements of traditional alpine folk music; however, sometimes, listening habits and genre borders are deliberately put to a test. You need to find out for yourself: this is an exceptional combo that guarantees an unexpected acoustic and visual experience. Be warned, you will be delighted, but it’s the musicians themselves who have most fun.
