The wellenklænge, Lunz am See considers itself a festival for contemporary movements.
As the two new artistic directors, we see it as our task to shape a modern musical scene combining as many different music genres as possible – from chamber music to jazz, international folk, the choir scene, folk music, the indie scene, etc.
Under the motto “Nordwind & Alpenglühen” (Northwind & Alpine Glow), the wellenklænge festival 2018 provides artists with a platform for creative and diverse ways of engaging in the musical languages of both the North and the Alps.
While Nordic worlds of sound move and enchant listeners with melancholy and depth, the powerful Alpine music even turns the otherwise quite chilly nights in Lunz into fiery celebrations. Whether in a traditional or an experimental manner – engaging with the music of your own roots always creates a special spark between musicians and their audience where not one eye stays dry and no heart remains closed. Music is a universal language. The language of the soul.
Our festival comprises 7 evening concerts on the lake stage as well as a dance in the Rothschild Pavillon, a Sacred Room concert in the church, a matinée in the Lunzer Amonhaus, a fairy tale hike, and a lakeside resort party.
We invite you to come and listen!
