Gudrun Kreye (AT)<\/span><\/h3>[vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1622886597732{padding-right: 50px !important;}”]In the course of the discussions about euthanasia in Austria, the tasks of palliative medicine always play a central role. Gudrun Kreye is one of the leading palliative medicine specialists in Austria. At the very beginning of her medical career, she discovered her interest in palliative patients. Because even as a student, she worked on a voluntary basis in the CS Hospice on Rennweg in Vienna. As part of her training as a haemato-oncologist, she completed several research stays, for example in the USA or the United Kingdom. She now heads the palliative team at the Krems University Hospital, and since 2019 she has been co-chair of the \u201cESMO Designated Center Working Group\u201d, which promotes and supports the integration of palliative care into oncology worldwide.
